As part of the provincial mental health services continuum, BC Mental Health & Substance Use Services (BCMHSUS) provides a diverse range of specialized, “one-of-a-kind” tertiary level mental health services to residents across all geographic areas in BC. These include Adult Forensic Psychiatric Services located at the Forensic Psychiatric Hospital plus six regional clinics. In addition to direct services, BC Mental Health & Addiction Services acts as a support and resource to service providers across the province, and contributes to research and education.

BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) cares for the province’s most acutely ill or injured children and youth, provides developmental and rehabilitation services to children and youth throughout BC, and offers a broad range of health services. Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children (SHHC), a leading provincial facility offering specialized services to children and youth with developmental disabilities from birth to age 19, works collaboratively with BCCH. SHHC focuses on the child and their family while supporting health care professionals in their community. BCCH also operates a wide number of specialized health programs, is a leading acute care teaching facility, and conducts research to advance health and care through the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and in partnership with the University of British Columbia.

BCMHSUS and BCCH are agencies of the Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) which plans, manages and evaluates specialty and province-wide health care services across BC. Anderson Adkins Associates / Red Ladder Optimized Learning is seeking a Psychologist to become a key member of our group. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability with provision of evidence-based psychological methods to treat a range of conditions in children, teens, adults. We welcome applicants with a variety of backgrounds; however, those with interest and skill in treatment of anxiety and depression in children and teens are particularly welcome to apply, as are those with strong background in neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disorders/disabilities, coaching for ADHD, treatment for self-regulation, and interest in working with couples and families. Strength in psychological /psychoeducational assessment is an asset. Competency in languages in addition to English an asset, and competence in French highly desirable. For a suitable candidate, there is an opportunity possibility of augmenting areas of practice through additional supervision.

The successful candidate will be registered currently as a Psychologist (C.Psych.) with the Psychological Association of Manitoba, or registered in another jurisdiction and eligible for registration in Manitoba.
