Volunteer Opportunity – Canada Games
The Canada Games will be held in Winnipeg July 28 – August 13, 2017. The Canada Games is a multi-sport experience, designed to expose athletes to this format. At the Canada Games, provinces compete against each other and travel as a delegation. The participants stay in an athlete’s village, eat together, have accreditation and do everything else you would experience at other larger multi-sport games such as the Commonwealth, Pan American or Olympic games. Many participants at larger games are alumni of a Canada Games experience.
Every multi-sport games include a medical team to ensure participant needs get taken care of for the duration of competition. Medical personnel may travel with individual delegations, but the Canada Games Council also provides overarching care. More recently, psychological service has been included as a component of the medical service team.
