Wolseley Elm is a well-established, highly reputed, progressive private practice group that offers psychotherapy and assessment for children, teens, and adults. We work in a charming 1920’s character home in the heart of Wolseley. We are feminists, queer and neurodiverse friendly, and strongly value diversity.
Student Training: Seasoned Wolseley Elm psychologists Drs. Jule Henderson and Alexis Faller (CPsychs) offer training and paid clinical opportunities for students and early/returning practitioners. We work in conjunction with university training programs, if wished. Interested students must show strong clinical and organizational skills. A successful candidate minimally has completed (or close to completed) their master’s degree and at least one external practicum or equivalent. For psychology students, we can arrange with permission from the Clinical Psychology Graduate Program to apply hours as an external practicum and to supplement hours toward internship. We offer post-doc supervised clinical hours.
Career Development and Support: Wolseley Elm welcomes early, returning, or established practitioners on-going positions in our group practice. We provide, as wished, consultation/supervision, administrative support, website and/or telephone inclusion, office space with amenities, client referrals, and peer support. We are open to part-time or full-time positions and flexible hours. We work to develop/support your career and to meet clients’ service needs.
As a group, Wolseley Elm therapists provide individual, couple, and family therapy for a wide range of issues with varying degrees of complexity (e.g. personal growth, depression, anxiety, trauma, gender identity, sexual orientation, sex, eating, grief, neurodiversity, stress, chronic pain, parenting, development across the life span, interpersonal / relationship / family matters, other life situations). We are skilled in many intervention options which we tailor to the needs of our clients. We offer assessments regarding a variety of presenting requests. We receive referrals from private clients and from third parties (most with whom we have long-term relationships),.
We proudly work with therapists from multiple disciplines, including social work and marriage and family therapy.
Wolseley Elm has a long history of working with 2SLBGTTQIA clients across Manitoba. Jule was the first Manitoba Health-approved psychologist to provide psychological assessments for gender affirming medical procedures and has trained many others. We offer queer/questioning clients and loved ones services such as therapy, consultation, support, and psychological assessments (using WPATH Standards of Care 8). We maintain strong, long-standing working relationships with Klinic Community Health Centre and other service providers.
We are a fun-loving group who is committed to quality care and supporting each other. We enjoy beautifully furnished offices in a weloming, well-maintained, vintage household with kitchen, waiting room, common areas, and amenities. Our premises are wheelchair accessible.
